Mr Derrill De Heer, Dip Teaching, BA Admin, BA Adult Ed, MA Military History is a veteran of Indonesian Confrontation and a Vietnam veteran (8RAR, Psychological Operations (1st tour) and 4RAR/NZ (2ndtour)) and is a military historian. Derrill is the chief field researcher of the team. He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of New South Wales Canberra. Derrill is a major contributor to the work of Operation Wandering Souls having visited Vietnam several times to return documents and artefacts on behalf of Australian and New Zealand Vietnam veterans. Derrill’s MA thesis “Victory Through the Mind: Psychological Operations Conducted By Australian Army in Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam 1965-1971.  Volume 1 and Volume 2” investigated the contribution of the Australian Psychological Warfare effort to the struggle in Phuoc Tuy Province.
